Welcome to Bloodline Guide Service. I am a born and raised Alaskan that lives to fish and hunt this wonderful land we are blessed to call home. I am a former first responder and would love to accommodate our vets and first responders. We are based in Kenai, AK and guide on the Kenai River from a 21 foot 2022 Willies Classic. Our new boat was just finished at the factory and is being delivered soon.
2022 will be our first season guiding on the Kenai but I have spent a lifetime here fishing and decided last summer to open my own guiding operation to share my love of fishing this amazing river with others. We are looking to open to clients sometime in July 2022. Once all our permits and licenses are in place.
In the interest of preserving our king salmon on this river we will not be offering guided services for them. We would be happy to refer you to other guides in the saltwater or on the kasilof if a King (chinook) salmon is your target species.
In July we will be guiding for sockeye salmon (reds) and rainbow trout along with dolly varden on the middle river (below skilak lake to bings landing) or the lower river from the soldotna bridge to the mouth of the river. Our fishing location will depend on your desired targeted species and where fishing is best at the time of your trip.
In late august we have silver (coho) salmon entering the river all the way through September and into October weather dependent and the rainbows start getting ravenous going into the fall getting fat off all the eggs and flesh from spawning salmon. In July of even numbered years we get returns of pink salmon, while they are not considered great eating like the other species we target they are aggressive and will hit nearly anything thrown at them. It’s not uncommon to catch them till your arms are tired.
Our fishing methods are with Lamiglas spinning rods with shimano reels, Reddington and TFO fly rods.
